# Set Up Your Mintlify Account and Workspace

> Configure your Mintlify account and workspace settings to get your team ready to build and publish documentation in minutes.

After signing up, take a few minutes to configure your account and workspace so your team can start publishing documentation without friction. This guide walks you through updating your profile, inviting teammates, adjusting workspace settings, and connecting a custom domain.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Update your profile">
    Open **Settings** from the top-right avatar menu, then select **Profile**. Add your full name, upload a profile photo, and set your preferred notification channel (email or in-app). These details help teammates identify you in comments and activity feeds.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite teammates">
    Go to **Settings > Team** and click **Invite members**. Enter email addresses, choose a role for each invitee, and send the invitations. Invited users receive an email link to join your workspace immediately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure workspace settings">
    In **Settings > Workspace**, set your workspace display name, default language, and branding color. You can also enable public search indexing and configure default project visibility for new docs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect a custom domain">
    In **Settings > Domains**, click **Add domain**. Enter your domain (for example, `docs.example.com`), then follow the DNS instructions to add a CNAME record pointing to `cname.mintlify.app`. Mintlify validates the record and provisions SSL automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Only workspace **Owners** and **Admins** can change workspace settings, invite members, and manage custom domains. If you do not see these options, ask your workspace owner to upgrade your role.
</Note>

Once these steps are complete, your workspace is ready. Next, explore the [Dashboard](/features/dashboard) or [create your first project](/features/projects).
